Weymouth bike night was first organised back in 2012 by the late Brian Coombs (pictured above), originally located outside of the pavilion. The following year, the meet up moved to the Nothe fort, where it remained for two seasons before being transferred to weymouth harbourside. It moved to its final site, at Weymouth clock tower, in 2015; the end of which Brian sadly passed away.
We took on the organisation of bike night the following year and dedicated it to his memory; he was an avid bike enthusiast and was proud to have finally got the location he wanted – pride of place on Weymouth seafront.
Our nominated charities for 2018 are the Veteran’s Hub, a community cafe that provides support and friendship for Veterans and their families; and Waves Children’s charity, a local cause helping children and teenagers.
The 2019 season will begin on the first Thursday of April and run through to the last Thursday of September at the Jubilee Clock on the Seafront. It is £1.50 to participate, and all are welcome. The last Thursday of the month also sees classic cars join the display.
Local bike-related businesses are also welcome to come and have a stall, please contact us on firstname.lastname@example.org for more information, or send a message through our facebook page.
